What we measure

One number never tells the whole story, so every test records three things.

Download
and upload

Download is streaming and browsing. Upload is video calls, backups and sending files. Many packages are fast one way and slow the other.

Ping
and jitter

How quickly your connection responds, and how steady it is. These decide whether games and calls feel smooth, even on a fast line.

Peak
hours

Between 8 pm and midnight everyone is online. A provider that is fast at noon can crawl at night, so we show both for every ISP.

Put your street on the map

One 40-second test adds your neighbourhood to the comparison and helps the next person choose their provider with real numbers.

Questions

What the numbers mean, and how we keep them honest.

Which ISP is the best in Dhaka?
It depends on where you live. The same provider can be excellent in Gulshan and poor in Mirpur, because each area is served by different local lines and resellers. Pick your area on the map or the rankings page to see which providers actually perform well there.
What exactly does the test measure?
Download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter between your device and Cloudflare’s server in Dhaka. That is the domestic path, which covers the locally cached content most big sites serve. It does not measure speed to servers abroad, so it cannot tell you how overseas games or downloads will perform.
Why is my speed lower than the package I pay for?
Common causes: you are on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or far from the router, other people are using the connection, it is peak time (8 pm to midnight), or your ISP shares its bandwidth among too many customers. Test on a cable to rule out Wi-Fi, then compare your result with others on the same ISP in your area.
Is the test anonymous?
Yes. There is no account. We store your results, the area you chose, the name of the network your connection came from, and a hashed (scrambled) IP used only to prevent abuse. If you drop a pin, it is rounded to about 500 metres before saving.
How do you stop ISPs from faking results?
Every device counts once per ISP no matter how many tests it runs. Tests made over mobile data or a VPN are detected and excluded. Reviews can only be posted from a device that ran a test on that ISP. Rankings use medians, so a few extreme results cannot move them.
